U.S. District Judge Harvey E. Schlesinger has sentenced Evan Sims, 41, of Rhode Island, to two years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for providing false information and making threats about an explosive on an airplane. Sims has been in custody since his arrest on December 6, 2023. The court also ordered Sims to pay $25,478 in restitution to Breeze Airways. Sims pled guilty on March 5, 2024.
Baltimore, Maryland – The FBI and local law enforcement are investigating a surge of armed robberies, known as “jugging” crimes, at financial institutions in Maryland. At least 21 bank and ATM customers have been victimized by these crimes just in the first week of July.
ST. LOUIS – U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey on Wednesday sentenced a Warren County, Missouri man to 96 months in prison for possessing child sexual abuse material on phones and a laptop.
DENVER – The United States Attorney for the District of Colorado announced that Dravell Emon Ross, 28, of Arapahoe County, was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and one count of mail theft.
TULSA, Okla. – Today, U.S. District Judge John D. Russell sentenced Shawn William Gossett, 34, to 360 months of imprisonment followed by lifetime supervised release. Upon his release, Gossett will be required to register as a sex offender. His wife, Amanda Nicole Bynum, 36, a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, was sentenced in May to 120 months of imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release.
Jacob Glen Vance, age 34, of Petersburg, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for possession of a machine gun and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Mercedes Edmonds, also known as Marcedes Edmunds, 38, of Baltimore, Maryland, was sentenced today after being found guilty by a jury of aggravated assault while armed, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and additional firearms charges arising from a 2019 shooting in the 4000 block of Hayes Street NE. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Kalen Daevon Lee, age 31, of Detroit, Michigan, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. According to court documents and statements made in court, Lee, also known as “Tay,” was involved in a drug trafficking operation spanning Harrison, Monongalia, and Taylor Counties.
Montell De’Angelo Cousar, 33, of Chester, South Carolina, has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison following his guilty plea for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
A felon who possessed a firearm pled guilty today in federal court in Cedar Rapids. Diago Davis, age 50, from Chicago, Illinois, was convicted of one count of possession of a firearm as a felon.
Hagatña, Guam – Shawn N. Anderson, United States Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, announced that defendant Albert Benavente Taimanglo, age 69, from Dededo, Guam was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment. He was charged in the U.S. District Court of Guam with Conspiracy to Commit Theft of Government Property, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 371 and 641. The Court also ordered three years of supervised release, restitution of $44,567.90, and a mandatory $100 special assessment fee.
DENVER - The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado announced that Joshua Lybolt, 45, and Magdalena Lybolt, 46, of Castle Rock, Colorado, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Colorado. Joshua Lybolt has been charged with wire fraud and money laundering, while Magdalena Lybolt faces charges of wire fraud.
