Jacksonville, Florida – U.S. District Judge Brian J. Davis has sentenced Aaron Zahn, 44, formerly of Jacksonville Beach, to four years in federal prison for conspiracy to steal and embezzle City of Jacksonville municipal funds and for wire fraud. Zahn was found guilty after a four-week jury trial on March 14, 2024.
Two Texas men made their initial appearances after a federal grand jury in Kansas City, Kansas, returned an indictment on charges related to stolen merchandise.
U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell has sentenced Caleb Robert Wien, 22, of North Fort Myers, to six years in federal prison for possessing and accessing with intent to view images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. In addition to his prison term, Wien was sentenced to a 20-year term of supervised release and ordered to register as a sex offender. Wien pleaded guilty on January 24, 2024.
U.S. District Judge Wendy W. Berger has sentenced Peter Alexander Lawrence, 42, of Jacksonville, to 18 months in federal prison for making false statements and representations to a federally licensed firearms dealer. Lawrence entered a guilty plea on April 23, 2024.
Orlando, Florida – U.S. District Judge Paul G. Byron has sentenced Kristian Ramos, 44, of Kissimmee, to six years in federal prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The court also ordered Ramos to forfeit a Beretta Nano 9mm handgun involved in the offense. Ramos entered a guilty plea on February 27, 2024.
Da’Ron Jerome Collins, 47, of Boiling Springs, has pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and witness tampering in connection with an ongoing federal kidnapping investigation.

Amanda Rachelle Miller, 33, of Tucson, was apprehended in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico and deported to the United States on May 30, 2024, to face three felony indictments in the District of Arizona. Miller is a U.S. citizen and had been a fugitive for approximately three-and-a-half years at the time of her arrest in Mexico. Miller made her initial court appearance before United States Magistrate Judge Jacqueline Rateau on July 3, 2024, and was ordered detained in custody.

Spencer admitted to participating in a scheme to defraud the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) of $31,250 in COVID-19 relief loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).
