Kalen Daevon Lee, age 31, of Detroit, Michigan, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. According to court documents and statements made in court, Lee, also known as “Tay,” was involved in a drug trafficking operation spanning Harrison, Monongalia, and Taylor Counties.

Lee utilized a motel room in Morgantown to sell narcotics supplied from Detroit. Investigators searched the hotel room and a storage unit and conducted a traffic stop, seizing nearly two pounds of fentanyl.

Following his prison sentence, Lee will serve four years of supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Flower prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Mon Metro Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, conducted the investigation. Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the case.
