A San Antonio used car dealership manager, Felipe Alcibar, has been sentenced to six months in prison and ordered to pay more than $260,000 in restitution for tampering with odometers.

Court documents reveal that Alcibar, aged 62, was responsible for managing the daily operations at Autotex Financial. His illegal activities spanned from October 2020 to November 2023, during which he intentionally altered odometers on several vehicles purchased by the dealership that were then sold to the public.

Alcibar faced charges in a one-count information filed on October 8, 2024, and he pleaded guilty on October 30, 2024. In addition to his prison sentence, Alcibar has been ordered to pay $264,747.05 in restitution.

The case was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Margaret Leachman for the Western District of Texas. The investigation was carried out by the Department of Transportation Office of Odometer Fraud, and the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Chung.
