Ashley Nicole Luster, 29, of Sophia, was sentenced to eight months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for aiding and abetting the distribution of methamphetamine.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on July 13, 2022, Luster sold approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant at a Beckley apartment complex while aided and abetted by co-defendant Angelo Johnson. Luster admitted that she handed over the controlled substances after Johnson took the money.
Johnson, 29, of Beckley, was sentenced on December 8, 2023, to three years and one month in prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to aiding and abetting the distribution of methamphetamine.
United States Attorney Will Thompson announced the sentence and commended the investigative work of the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit. The unit consists of officers from the West Virginia State Police, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department, and the Beckley Police Department.
Chief United States District Judge Frank W. Volk imposed the sentence. Assistant United States Attorney Andrew D. Isabell prosecuted the case.
