A Turtle Creek resident has admitted guilt in federal court for narcotics trafficking and unlawful firearm possession, as announced by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti. Timothy Mollett, 34, pleaded guilty to multiple counts from a Superseding Indictment before Judge Marilyn J. Horan on March 19, 2025.
The court learned that between April 2019 and July 2021, Mollett conspired with others to distribute substantial amounts of cocaine, crack, fentanyl, and methamphetamine in the Western District of Pennsylvania. A federal wiretap revealed Mollett obtaining these drugs for distribution. In July 2021, he was found unlawfully possessing a firearm as a convicted felon while engaging in drug trafficking activities.
Judge Horan has scheduled sentencing for July 24, 2025. The law prescribes a maximum sentence ranging from five to forty years in prison and a fine of up to $10 million. The actual sentence will depend on the offense's seriousness and Mollett's criminal history.
Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon is leading the prosecution. The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Laurel Highlands Resident Agency and Homeland Security Investigations with support from several federal and local agencies.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative aimed at dismantling high-level drug traffickers and related criminal networks through collaborative efforts among various law enforcement bodies.
