Chadiez White, a 24-year-old resident of Fayetteville, has been sentenced to 130 months in prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. White entered a guilty plea on November 26, 2024.
Court records indicate that the Fayetteville Police Department stopped White for a traffic violation. Officers detected marijuana odor from the vehicle and observed marijuana residue and paraphernalia with a passenger. White admitted to having marijuana and a firearm in the car. A search of the vehicle revealed a semiautomatic pistol with a large capacity magazine under the driver's seat, ammunition in the center console, 77 grams of marijuana and a digital scale in a backpack behind the driver’s seat, and six empty marijuana graphic baggies on the passenger side. White claimed ownership of all items found.
White's criminal history includes convictions for common law robbery, breaking and entering, and an unrelated prior conviction for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence by uniting law enforcement agencies with communities.
