America First Legal has announced its support for Harmeet Dhillon's nomination as Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division. The organization communicated this endorsement through a letter to the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

The letter outlines America First Legal's commitment to promoting the rule of law and preventing executive overreach in order to advance civil rights, due process, and equal protection for all Americans. The organization emphasized that while significant progress has been made toward achieving color-blind equality, challenges remain in various sectors including corporate boardrooms and college admissions.

America First Legal criticized ongoing discrimination justified by diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies. They cited Justice Harlan's assertion that "our constitution is color-blind" from the case Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President & Fellows of Harvard College.

Harmeet Dhillon is praised by America First Legal for her qualifications and experience. Her academic background includes degrees from Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia School of Law. She also clerked for Judge Paul V. Niemeyer at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Dhillon's advocacy work is highlighted as well, particularly her defense of religious liberty and opposition to government mandates during the pandemic which affected independent contractors like barbers and beauticians.

Additionally, Ms. Dhillon has been recognized for her litigation efforts against Berkeley College regarding restrictions imposed on speakers invited by Berkeley College Republicans in 2017.

America First Legal concludes its endorsement by stating: "Therefore, we enthusiastically endorse Ms. Dhillon as the next Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division."
