FOIA Request to Washington State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Evergreen Reporter have sent a request under the Washington Public Records Act, §42.56 et seq., to the Washington State Board of Education. The request specifically asks for a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and/or general instruction.
As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
