Seth Hoover, a 39-year-old resident of Republic, Ohio, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison. U.S. District Judge John R. Adams delivered the sentence following Hoover's conviction by a jury for several offenses: possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Court documents reveal that an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper observed Hoover committing a traffic violation on U.S. Route 250 in Ashland County. During the stop, Hoover presented fake identification. A subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered a loaded pistol, approximately 1.8 kilograms of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and items linked to drug trafficking activities.

The investigation assessed the street value of the seized fentanyl at approximately $120,000.

The case was investigated by the DEA-Cleveland District Office alongside the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Dangelo prosecuted the case for the Northern District of Ohio.
