A Bridgeport man has been charged with narcotics distribution offenses, according to an announcement by Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Robert Fuller, Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Darren Ebron, also known as "D," was arrested on a criminal complaint.

Ebron appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge S. Dave Vatti in Bridgeport and was ordered detained.

Court documents and statements allege that law enforcement identified Ebron as a distributor of controlled substances in and around Bridgeport. Between August 2024 and January 2025, investigators reportedly made several controlled purchases of fentanyl from Ebron. Additionally, they intercepted calls and text messages through a court-authorized wiretap during which Ebron allegedly coordinated the sale of fentanyl and crack cocaine.

The complaint charges Ebron with possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl, an offense carrying a mandatory minimum imprisonment term of five years and a maximum term of 40 years; conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 20 years; and use of a communications facility in furtherance of drug trafficking, carrying a maximum imprisonment term of four years.

Acting U.S. Attorney Silverman emphasized that "a complaint is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt." He added that "charges are only allegations, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."

The investigation involves the FBI Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force along with the Bridgeport Police Department and Stratford Police Department. The Task Force includes personnel from various police departments across Connecticut. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark is prosecuting the case.
