A federal jury in Toledo, Ohio, has convicted Derran Reebel of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM). Reebel, aged 52, was found guilty of violating federal laws concerning the sexual exploitation and abuse of children. Court documents reveal that he knowingly received and distributed CSAM from January 1, 2014, to August 17, 2022. During a search at his residence, investigators discovered numerous books, magazines, periodicals, films, and videotapes containing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Additionally, law enforcement officials uncovered evidence that Reebel had used social media for several years to communicate with minors. He sent them sexually explicit messages and photos.

Reebel's sentencing date is yet to be determined. He faces a prison sentence ranging from a minimum of five years to a maximum of 20 years.

The FBI-Toledo conducted the investigation into this case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sara Al-Sorghali and Frank Spryszak are prosecuting on behalf of the Northern District of Ohio.
