Latimer County woman pleads guilty to federal firearm charge

Teresa Louise Lightfoot, a 51-year-old resident of Wilburton, Oklahoma, has pled guilty to a federal firearm charge. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma reported that Lightfoot admitted to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to the indictment, on September 28, 2023, Lightfoot was found with a semiautomatic pistol despite having a prior conviction for an offense punishable by more than one year in prison.

The investigation was conducted by the Latimer County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted Lightfoot's plea and requested a presentence investigation report. Until sentencing, she will remain in custody under the United States Marshal Service.

Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly represented the government in this case.
