U.S. District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza has sentenced Gerit William Naber, a 39-year-old resident of Palm Bay, to 11 years and 8 months in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine. Naber pleaded guilty on June 24, 2024.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. According to the plea agreement, these agencies utilized a confidential source to make two controlled purchases of multiple ounces of methamphetamine from Naber. A third attempt at a controlled purchase failed when the confidential source refused to use drugs with Naber. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at Naber's residence, leading to the seizure of over 100 grams of methamphetamine. In total, Naber was held accountable for distributing over 320 grams of pure methamphetamine.

Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman prosecuted the case.
