The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Christopher Kent Leondis Honeycutt, 44, from Wagoner, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to federal charges. Honeycutt faced one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and another count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
According to the Information, on January 24, 2024, Honeycutt knowingly possessed over 50 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine, classified as a Schedule II controlled substance. The document further states that on the same date, he was found with a semi-automatic pistol and 56 rounds of ammunition. These items were shipped and transported across state lines despite Honeycutt's prior conviction for a crime carrying a prison sentence exceeding one year.
The case emerged from an investigation conducted by the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office alongside Homeland Security Investigations.
Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted Honeycutt's plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. The judge ordered a presentence investigation report and stated that Honeycutt would remain under the custody of the United States Marshal Service until sentencing.
