A Lewiston resident has been taken into custody on charges related to methamphetamine trafficking. Muktar Abshir (Mo) Aden, 25, was apprehended at his home in downtown Lewiston following an arrest warrant issued by the court. Aden appeared for the first time in U.S. District Court in Portland today.

The investigation is being conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with support from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Maine State Police, and Lewiston Police Department.

It is important to note that a complaint is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
