Beckley man sentenced to over five years for federal drug crime

Davon Jamir Linder, 24, of Beckley, was sentenced today to five years and eight months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for the distribution of methamphetamine.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on February 27, 2023, Linder sold a controlled substance containing methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Beckley. Linder admitted to the transaction. He was also found in possession of 800 grams of methamphetamine when a search warrant was executed at his house. At the time of these offenses, he was on parole supervision.

United States Attorney Will Thompson announced the sentencing and commended the investigative work conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit. This unit includes officers from the West Virginia State Police, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department, and the Beckley Police Department.

Chief United States District Judge Frank W. Volk imposed the sentence. Assistant United States Attorney Andrew D. Isabell prosecuted the case.
