U.S. District Judge William Jung has sentenced Pierre C. Marc, 37, of Bradenton, to 30 years in federal prison for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute significant quantities of controlled substances, including cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, and heroin. Marc was also convicted of possessing with the intent to distribute marijuana and over 40 grams of fentanyl. The jury found him guilty on April 9, 2024.
Court documents and trial evidence indicated that Marc was a major drug distributor in the Middle District of Florida. A witness testified that between January and September 2019, Marc supplied him with an ounce of fentanyl and one to two kilograms of cocaine weekly for distribution in Pinellas County. In 2021, Marc participated in a controlled delivery involving more than 300 grams of fentanyl and a firearm. Another witness stated that in 2020 and 2021, Marc provided three to five kilograms of fentanyl for distribution in Manatee County.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the St. Petersburg Police Department, and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at identifying, disrupting, and dismantling high-level criminal organizations through a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven approach involving multiple agencies.
Assistant United States Attorney Shauna S. Hale prosecuted the case.
