A woman from Oakmont, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 34 months in federal prison for embezzling approximately $250,400 from her employer over a five-year period. Christy Myers, aged 64, received the sentence on March 11, 2025, as announced by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
The sentence was handed down by Chief United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak. Following her prison term, Myers will be subject to five years of supervised release. The court heard that Myers used various methods to carry out the embezzlement between April 2016 and June 2021.
This is not Myers' first conviction; she had previously served a federal prison term related to a mortgage fraud scheme in 2007.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. Acting United States Attorney Rivetti acknowledged the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in investigating and leading to Myers' prosecution.
