A New Orleans resident, Kevin Tyler II, also known as "City," has pled guilty to charges related to violations of the Federal Controlled Substances Act. The plea was entered on February 12, 2025, before United States District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo. Tyler admitted guilt to two counts from a superseding indictment involving conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.
Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced the guilty plea, stating that Tyler and his co-conspirators were involved in distributing large quantities of cocaine within the Eastern District of Louisiana.
For both counts, Tyler faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and could be sentenced up to life imprisonment. He may also face a fine of up to $10 million, at least five years of supervised release, and a mandatory special assessment fee totaling $200.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation aimed at identifying and dismantling high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations through coordinated efforts among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Louisiana State Police, and Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lynn E. Schiffman from the Narcotics Unit is prosecuting the case.
