A former supervisor with the U.S. Postal Service, Benita D. Randle, appeared in court recently to address an indictment accusing her of mail theft. Randle, 42, was charged on December 11 in the U.S. District Court in St. Louis for allegedly stealing checks from the mail while serving as a supervisor at the St. Louis Processing and Distribution Center.

The indictment claims that on October 31, 2023, Randle stole approximately 90 checks from mail entrusted to the Postal Service for delivery. During her court appearance, she pleaded not guilty to the charges.

It is important to note that charges detailed in an indictment are merely accusations and do not constitute proof of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The investigation into this case was conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Clow.
