On December 18, 2024, federal search warrants were executed at multiple locations within the Des Moines metropolitan area. The targeted sites included addresses on SE 6th Street, Urbandale Avenue, Kenyon Avenue, and several others throughout Des Moines and nearby cities like Clive and Urbandale.
The operation was a collaborative effort involving numerous law enforcement agencies. These included the Des Moines Police Department, United States Postal Inspection Service divisions from Denver, San Francisco, Chicago, and Houston, as well as the FBI Omaha Field Office and its Des Moines Resident Agency. Other participants were the FBI's Central Iowa Gang Task Force (CIGTF), Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement (DNE), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Iowa State Patrol SWAT team, and various local police departments including West Des Moines and Pleasant Hill.
Additionally, support was provided by county sheriff’s offices from Polk, Story, Dallas County, and others. Regional task forces such as the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force also contributed to the operation. External assistance came from police departments in Chicago and Houston.
The coordinated action aimed to address unspecified law enforcement objectives across these locations.
