U.S. District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell has sentenced Eric L. Lemon, aged 46 from St. Petersburg, to over 21 years in federal prison for drug trafficking offenses. Lemon had entered a guilty plea in July 2024.

Court documents revealed that Lemon and his co-conspirators were involved in selling methamphetamine, cocaine, bath salts, and various prescription pills from several trap houses located in St. Petersburg. The investigation led to the seizure of more than 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine and four firearms by law enforcement authorities. Previously, Lemon served a decade-long sentence in federal prison for similar drug trafficking offenses.

The case was jointly investigated by the St. Petersburg Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorneys David P. Sullivan and James A. Muench.

This legal action was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation aimed at identifying, disrupting, and dismantling major criminal organizations that pose a threat to the United States through a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven approach involving multiple agencies.

Further details about the OCDETF Program can be accessed at www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
