Brandy Binneboese, a 44-year-old resident of Sioux City, Iowa, has been sentenced to federal prison for her involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The sentencing took place on October 25, 2024, following her guilty plea on June 7, 2024, in a federal court in Sioux City.

According to evidence presented during the plea and sentencing hearings, Binneboese was involved in a conspiracy that distributed over seven pounds of methamphetamine from January 2021 through June 2023. Law enforcement observed her participation in three separate transactions involving quarter and half-pound quantities of methamphetamine in 2023. On June 1, 2023, after completing one such transaction, Binneboese was apprehended by law enforcement officers who found her with half an ounce of methamphetamine and $2,500 in pre-serialized buy money used moments earlier for the drug purchase.

United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand presided over the sentencing where Binneboese received a sentence of 38 months’ imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release. In the federal system, there is no provision for parole. Until she is transported to a federal prison facility, Binneboese remains under the custody of the United States Marshal.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde and investigated by the Tri-State Drug Task Force based in Sioux City. This task force includes personnel from various agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration; Sioux City Police Department; Homeland Security Investigations; Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office; South Sioux City Police Department; Nebraska State Patrol; Iowa National Guard; Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement; United States Marshals Service; South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation; and Woodbury County Attorney’s Office.
