A federal indictment has been unsealed, charging twelve individuals with involvement in a methamphetamine production and trafficking conspiracy based on a property in Walton County, Georgia. The charges stem from a joint law enforcement operation conducted on August 13, 2024, at 2370 Mountain Creek Church Road in Monroe, Georgia.
During the operation, agents seized over 4,346 grams of crystal methamphetamine and approximately 377 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine. Additionally, $5,401 was confiscated from the site. A Chevrolet Traverse occupied by Yuretzi Gomez, Yirla Gomez, Rafael Gomez, and Uriel Garcia was also searched, yielding 1,046 grams of methamphetamine and $4,350 in cash. Further seizures included 4,523 grams of methamphetamine from a Camaro occupied by Jared Calhoun and Ebony Jones-Tate.
James Len Ramey of Comer, Georgia is among those charged. He faces counts related to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. His initial court appearance is scheduled for November 4 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Charles H. Weigle.
Other defendants have already appeared before Judge Weigle. They include Christopher Hyatt of LaGrange; Kendell Cawthon of Baldwin; Bonterris Turner of Athens; Demetrius Appling of Crawford; Andrea Robinson of Cleveland; Yuretzi Adame Gomez, Yirla Adame Gomez, Rafael Gomez Flores and Uriel Garcia all from Mexico; Jared Calhoun and Ebony Jones-Tate both from Birmingham.
The investigation involves multiple agencies including the FBI’s Middle Georgia Safe Streets Gang Task Force, DEA, GBI, Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Athens-Clarke County Police Department and GSP. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike Morrison is handling the prosecution.
"An indictment is only an allegation of criminal conduct," authorities remind the public that "all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt."
