Stuffy's II Restaurant has been slapped with fines totaling more than $100,000 and even appeared in court last week regarding the restaurant's defiance of the state's COVID-19 restrictions.

The restaurant was fined $126,000 for defying Gov. Jay Inslee's orders to ban indoor dining after virus numbers began to spike.

Supporters joined in a rally to support the restaurant, with over 200 people gathering outside the court.

“That’s robbery. That’s theft. The government shouldn’t be imposing fines like that for people who are working and in line with the Constitution," Julie Morris, who attended the rally to support Stuffy’s, told Fox 12.

The restaurant is said to have reopened on Dec. 5 because its employees were having a hard time getting unemployment checks and the to-go orders were not sustainable.

The case was moved to later this month allowing Stuffy's to get a lawyer.
