State Representatives Gloria Mendoza and Deb Manjarrez will host a series of town hall meetings for residents of the 14th Legislative District later this month. The lawmakers announced on Apr. 23 that these events are scheduled for April 27 in Yakima at the Excel Youth Center, and April 28 in Toppenish at Astria Toppenish Hospital, both from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The town halls are intended to give community members an opportunity to discuss key issues with their state representatives. According to the announcement, topics will include updates on the upcoming legislative session, as well as matters such as the state budget, taxes, agriculture, housing, public safety, infrastructure investments, and support for families and small businesses.

Representatives Chris Corry and Jeremie Dufault from the neighboring 15th District will also participate in the Yakima event on April 27. This joint appearance aims to provide more information and answer questions from local residents about ongoing legislative efforts.

The meetings are part of what organizers describe as an effort by lawmakers to maintain transparency and accountability while ensuring constituents have a voice in government decisions. Residents are encouraged to attend either session to share their concerns or ask questions about policies affecting their region.

As legislators prepare for discussions on pressing regional challenges—including agriculture policy changes and public safety—these forums offer a direct way for citizens to engage with those representing them at the state level.
