An inmate at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls pleaded guilty on June 3 in federal court in Rhode Island to possession of prison contraband and possession with intent to distribute multiple controlled substances, including fentanyl.
Brian Slutzkin, also known as Lello Brian Bongiorno, age 41, admitted that he possessed controlled substances concealed on his person while incarcerated at the Wyatt Detention Facility with the intent to distribute them to others.
Slutzkin is scheduled for sentencing on September 24. The sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge after consideration of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
According to court documents, a search of Slutzkin revealed a sock hidden on his person containing seven balloons made from latex gloves. Examination determined that the balloons contained distributable quantities of powder containing fentanyl, pills containing oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen, strips containing buprenorphine and naloxone, and marijuana.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ronald R. Gendron. The matter was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and investigators at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility.
