The Washington women’s golf team finished the second round of the Big Ten Women’s Golf Championship on April 25 at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, California, holding 11th place with a total score of +37 through 36 holes and +22 for the day.
The team’s performance matters as it determines their standing going into the final round of a major collegiate tournament. Their results also reflect how individual players are progressing during this important event.
Carmen Lim led Washington for the second consecutive day, posting a three-over-par round to stand at five-over for the tournament. Lim is tied for 24th place heading into the final round. Amber Li followed closely with a six-over-par effort and is tied for 37th overall at eight-over. Wendy Tang and Mads Smith each recorded eight-over rounds; Tang is now tied for 71st at fifteen-over, while Smith sits tied for 75th at sixteen-over. Athena Ni completed her day with a ten-over-par score and stands in 67th position overall at fourteen-over.
“We got off to a good start today and learned from yesterday,” said head coach Anna Temple. “Making the turn, we got away from our controllables, so we will refocus on that in tomorrow’s round. We have an exciting day in front of us, and we’re looking forward to the final round!”
Washington will compete again Sunday in the final round of play at Oakmont Country Club, with tee times starting at 9:40 a.m. Pacific Time.
