Washington Farmland Trust announced on April 15 that it will list the Delta Farm, a 73-acre conserved property in the Dungeness Valley, for sale. The listing will be available for 120 days, from April 15 through August 16, with an offer and application review period following from August 17 to September 30.
The Delta Farm holds significance as the first farm conserved by Washington Farmland Trust and has been managed for many years by Nash’s Organic Produce. Its location is notable due to Sequim’s unique climate and prime soils, making farmland in the area highly sought after. Additionally, the land drains into the Lower Dungeness River—home to six salmon species—and hosts the headwaters of Meadowbrook Creek.
The organization said it is working with brokers at CBRE and listing Delta Farm through its Farm to Farmer program to ensure wide accessibility for interested farmers. Questions about the listing can be directed to Teresa D. Patton at CBRE via phone or email as provided by Washington Farmland Trust.
Interested buyers are encouraged to use this extended listing period to explore financing options and prepare financial statements before submitting offers. According to Washington Farmland Trust, this approach was shaped by feedback from local farmers and partners with a goal of promoting equity in land transactions. All offers must include a completed application form.
A virtual information session is scheduled for May 20 from 5:00–6:00 p.m., where potential buyers can ask questions, meet staff members of Washington Farmland Trust, learn more about the property easement and sale process, and access Spanish interpretation during Q&A sessions. Registration details are available through Washington Farmland Trust’s website.
