Washington announced on Apr. 23 the signing of veteran guard Ryan Beasley, who will join the Huskies men’s basketball team through the transfer portal after three seasons with San Francisco.
Beasley was named to the Second Team All-West Coast Conference in the 2025-26 season and is expected to bring experience and scoring ability to Washington’s roster. The move comes as Washington looks to strengthen its backcourt ahead of competition in the Big Ten Conference.
“Ryan has elite speed and an elite ability to put the ball in the basket,” said Danny Sprinkle, head coach at Washington. “He’s been one of the most dynamic guards in the WCC the past couple of years. We’re very fortunate to get someone who can create and score, get the ball in the paint and find teammates. He was one of the top point guards on our board. His ability to score the basketball is something we need in the Big Ten.”
During his first season as a full-time starter for San Francisco, Beasley averaged team-highs with 13.6 points and 4 assists per game, ranking sixth in his conference for assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.43. He shot .407 from field goal range and .327 from three-point distance over 150 attempts while converting free throws at an 82.7 percent rate during his junior year.
Beasley’s performances included double-digit scoring in 21 out of 31 games last season, seven games with more than twenty points, a career-high thirty-two points against Loyola Marymount University (LMU), and notable contributions against Big Ten opposition such as Minnesota.
Before joining college basketball, Beasley earned MaxPreps Second Team California All-State honors as a high school senior by averaging over twenty-four points per game.
