Therapy 2000 and KidsCare Home Health announced on June 3 that they have joined together to become a leading provider of pediatric home health services nationwide. The combined organization will deliver occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language therapy, and feeding therapy across nine states including Texas, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., South Carolina, and Florida. In addition to these services, KidsCare also provides pediatric private duty nursing in Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Texas.
The merger brings together more than 21,000 patients and over 2,300 employees. The transaction was supported by Avesi Partners. Jerre van den Bent, Chief Executive Officer of Therapy 2000, said: “By uniting our organizations, we will drive innovation, expand access, and improve outcomes for children needing cost-effective pediatric care nationwide.” Van den Bent added that both organizations bring clinical expertise and operational excellence aimed at supporting positive growth with the best outcomes for children.
Pediatric home health is serving a growing number of children from birth to age 21 with chronic or complex conditions such as developmental delays or neurological concerns. Erik Baker, President of KidsCare Home Health, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to bring together two organizations that share a common purpose and culture centered on clinicians and the patients they serve. By combining our strengths we are well positioned to continue expanding access to high-quality pediatric home health services to communities throughout the United States.”
Children who receive these services often benefit from increased skill development as well as reduced hospitalization rates; families also receive hands-on caregiver coaching during sessions at home.
Therapy 2000 is based in Texas and provides individualized treatment plans designed for daily routines at home or in community settings such as daycares or prescribed pediatric extended care facilities. KidsCare delivers similar therapies along with private duty nursing services for medically complex children across multiple states.
