Volunteers from the Sacramento Chapter of The Way to Happiness Foundation International participated in the 36th Annual Kids Day in the Park event, distributing educational materials and sharing positive messages with children and parents on May 13.

The event aimed to encourage positive moral values and strengthen community bonds by introducing families to The Way to Happiness booklets and a new illustrated children’s book, “How to Be Happy.” Both resources are based on L. Ron Hubbard’s common-sense guide for better living.

The Way to Happiness features 21 precepts such as “Love and Help Children,” “Honor and Help Your Parents,” and “Seek to Live with the Truth.” The Sacramento chapter regularly organizes activities that promote these principles, including community cleanups focused on setting a good example and improving the environment. Volunteers greeted more than 400 attendees at their booth during the event, distributing over 500 pieces of educational material.

Parents expressed enthusiasm for the new children’s edition. “There was a lot of excitement from parents who commented that they had not seen anything like it before,” said volunteer Liza Klagenberg. “It is a unique non-religious book based entirely on common sense.”

Coordinators said that their outreach efforts were an effective way to help strengthen families within Rancho Cordova by encouraging positive values among youth.

According to information provided by The Way to Happiness Foundation, it is a secular charitable organization coordinated by the Association for Better Living and Education (ABLE), which is sponsored by the Church of Scientology.
