Arkmeem Y. Vaughn, a 51-year-old resident of Zanesville, Ohio, has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for charges related to methamphetamine distribution. Vaughn had previously pled guilty in February 2024 to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute the drug.

The Elkins Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Vaughn, during which they discovered 151 grams of crystal methamphetamine, $7,000 in cash, and a drug ledger. Vaughn was reportedly traveling from Ohio to Elkins with the intention of selling methamphetamine.

Following his prison term, Vaughn will be subject to three years of supervised release. The investigation was carried out by the Mountain Region Drug Task Force, which is funded by HIDTA.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Warner. Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the proceedings.
