During a recent press conference, Gov. Jay Inslee stated that there is no definite plan yet for Phase 3 of dealing with the pandemic.
Responding to a question on when phase three is starting and what it’s going to look like, the governor said “we have not identified that.”
“We just put the finishing touches on Phase 2,” he added.
Inslee stated that the plan would depend on some factors such as data trends, future circumstances, and vaccination results.
“I think we will be looking at the science in the next immediate future as it develops both as to how prevalent the new variants are. How the current favorable conditions are continuing over the next several weeks whether they continue to develop and we’ve been very pleased with the declining numbers,” the governor continued.
“We also want to see some science on the effectiveness of these vaccines against these new variants that science is very rapidly developing. We’re going to need to look at some of those things to figure out the next stage of this.”
Inslee also said that he is very pleased with increased business activity but the decision to move forward will still depend on the factors he mentioned, KXLY.com reported.
According to governor.wa.gov, the only region that has not yet moved to Phase 2 is the South Central region comprising of Ellensburg, Yakima, the Tri-Cities, and Walla Walla.
