Des Moines home prices fall in 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in 2019 in Des Moines fell by $7,500 while total sales increased by 27.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2019, there were 202 homes sold, with a median sale price of $400,000 - a 1.8% decrease over the $407,500 median sale price for the previous year. There were 158 homes sold in Des Moines in 2018.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $3,602, approximately 0.9% of the median home sale price for 2019.
