Gov. Jay Inslee said Washington would be extending the Safe Start proclamation until Aug. 6, according to a press release from his office.
The extension simplifies the cooperation between the Safe Start proclamation and the Department of Health. It clarifies Secretary John Wiesman's face mask order as well.
Inslee's proclamation states that the Yakima County business interdiction is extended across the entire state. The prohibition states that no business shall operate, allow customers within the establishment, or conduct in-person business unless the customer is wearing a face mask.
Additionally, people are forbidden from entering a place of business without wearing a face mask. This was proclaimed to combat the rapid spread of COVID-19.
Employers must notify the local health jurisdiction if the employer speculates that the coronavirus is spreading within the establishment, according to the press release. Moreover, the employer must report all suspected cases of suspected coronavirus symptoms. The employer is required to report the suspicion within a 14 day period.
