Seattle University softball will travel to Corvallis for a three-game series against Oregon State starting Friday, April 24 at Kelly Field, according to an April 23 announcement. All games are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.

The matchup comes as both teams seek a return to the win column. Seattle U holds an 18-24 overall record and is 4-5 in West Coast Conference play, while Oregon State stands at 17-30 overall and 5-7 in conference action. The Redhawks’ junior Avari Morris leads both her team and the conference with a .429 batting average and has tallied 63 hits this season. She is one of four WCC players batting above .400 and ranks first in the conference with 39 runs scored.

Senior Taylor Fitch leads Seattle U with 47 RBIs, placing her second in the WCC, while senior Ava Sin sits fifth with 38 RBIs. Fitch also ranks third in home runs within the conference, hitting twelve so far this season. Together, Fitch and Sin have combined for ninety-three hits; Fitch is seventh in league hits with forty-nine, while Sin is tied for first among WCC players with seventeen doubles.

Freshman pitcher Kaia Galaviz has guided the Redhawks from the circle, posting a 3.44 earned run average across nineteen appearances and leading her team with six wins. Junior Berkley Vance has contributed fifty-one strikeouts over twenty-two appearances and leads all Redhawk pitchers with ninety-three innings pitched.

Defensively, junior Karen Spadafora has recorded one hundred seventy-five putouts this season while graduate Jay Ross follows closely behind at one hundred sixty-six putouts primarily at first base. The Redhawks rank second in their conference for total hits (367), runs (240), home runs (39), and lead all teams in batting average (.314) as well as doubles (75). They are third defensively with one hundred eighty-nine strikeouts.

The two programs began their series history in 2009; last season they split their meetings during Seattle U’s final year competing in the Western Athletic Conference. The Beavers currently lead the all-time series twelve games to four.

Oregon State enters this weekend after five consecutive losses but recently claimed two out of three home games against Pacific before falling on the road to Saint Mary’s College of California Gaels. Following this away series, Seattle University will return home for its final set of regular-season games hosting Santa Clara May 1–3.
