Seattle University baseball will begin a three-game West Coast Conference series against Pepperdine starting Friday, April 24, at Championship Field in Bellevue. The games are scheduled for Friday at 4:00 p.m., Saturday at 4:45 p.m., and Sunday at 1:05 p.m. All games will be available to watch on ESPN+.

This matchup marks the first time Seattle U and Pepperdine have met on the baseball field. The Redhawks enter the series after winning two out of three games against San Diego last weekend, improving their conference record to 9-6 with a total of 30 runs scored during that series.

Head Coach Donny Harrel recently reached his 350th win leading the Redhawks program with Saturday’s victory over San Diego, bringing his overall head coaching total to 570 wins across his career, which includes seven years at Lane Community College and Seattle U. The team returns home after a four-game road trip through San Diego and has posted a record of six wins and four losses in their last ten home games, including recent series victories over Loyola Marymount University and Portland.

Several players have received individual recognition ahead of this weekend’s games. Junior Payton Knowles was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week after going nine-for-thirteen with six extra-base hits and eight runs batted in during the San Diego series, raising his season batting average to .354—seventh best in the conference. Tyler Horner hit three home runs against San Diego, bringing his season total to five and making him team leader both in home runs and RBIs (30). Pitcher Luke Alwood recorded his first win of the season by throwing over four scoreless innings on Saturday for his fifth collegiate victory.

Travis Farrell is set as Friday’s probable starter; he has delivered quality starts in three consecutive outings—allowing only six earned runs over twenty-seven innings for an earned run average of two.

The upcoming series provides an opportunity for Seattle U baseball fans to see how their team fares against new competition as they continue their push within conference play.
