Seattle U baseball falls to San Diego State, ends road trip with 2-2 record

Seattle University baseball lost to San Diego State, 5-9, on April 20 at Tony Gwynn Stadium in San Diego. The Redhawks concluded their four-game road trip with a split record of two wins and two losses.

The result brings Seattle U’s season record to 14-21. The team will return home for a three-game conference series against Pepperdine beginning Friday, April 24.

Payton Knowles led the Redhawks offensively by going three-for-four at the plate. Tyler Horner contributed with a team-high two runs batted in, while Jake Beauchaine and Hayden Carlson each drove in one run. Jake Morell took the loss on the mound after pitching two innings and allowing two earned runs on four hits.

The game marked the end of Seattle U’s series of away games in San Diego. Looking ahead, the Redhawks aim to improve their standing as they prepare for upcoming conference play against Pepperdine.
