The Seattle Storm announced on May 6 the signing of guard Taina Mair, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 Women’s National Basketball Association Draft, to one of the team’s two player development roster spots.

Mair participated in both preseason games for the Storm, averaging 2.0 points, 4.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. She led the team in assists during both contests with a total of nine, contributing to 22 points, and posted a plus-minus average of 10.5, which was the highest among Seattle players. In an April 29 matchup against the Portland Fire, she made both her free throw attempts.

A native of Boston, Mair played her final three college seasons at Duke University where she was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2026 and averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game that season. In her previous year at Duke in 2025, she led her program in assists with a total of 134 and ranked second on her team for three-point shooting percentage at 37.8% as well as steals with a total of fifty-five.

Mair started every collegiate game she played during her career—including one season at Boston College—where she averaged eleven point one points, six point six assists and two steals per game while earning selection to the ACC All-Freshman team. She also led all freshmen in double-doubles, assists, steals and minutes per game within her conference.

The organization provided information for fans interested in tickets or further details about the upcoming season through their website or by phone.
