Pete Serrano has been sworn in as the Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington. The appointment was made by Attorney General Pam Bondi on August 6, 2025.

As Interim United States Attorney, Serrano will oversee all federal criminal prosecutions and civil litigation involving the United States within the district. He will lead a staff of about 79 people, including prosecutors, civil litigators, and support staff across Eastern Washington.

Serrano previously served as Mayor of Pasco, Washington. In 2021, he co-founded the Silent Majority Foundation, a nonprofit focused on civil liberties issues. Serrano held positions as Director and General Counsel at the organization.

Between 2015 and 2018, Serrano worked as an attorney for the Department of Energy with a focus on environmental law. From 2018 to 2021, he worked at Energy Northwest where his duties included permitting work related to small modular nuclear reactors.
