Mexican national sentenced to prison for illegal reentry after multiple deportations

A Mexican national, Cesar Daniel Reyes-Rodriguez, was sentenced on April 24 by United States District Judge Gloria M. Navarro to 30 months in prison and three years of supervised release for illegally reentering the United States after being removed from the country three times.

The sentencing underscores ongoing efforts by federal authorities to address repeated illegal entries and related criminal activity. The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and transnational crime.

According to court documents and statements made during proceedings, Reyes-Rodriguez was found in the United States on April 27, 2025, after having been deported to Mexico on June 25, 2019; October 18, 2019; and June 23, 2023. He was arrested by North Las Vegas Police Department officers on April 26, 2025, for his fourth DUI since 2016. His prior convictions include a felony DUI in 2018 as well as felony charges for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (2018) and illegal reentry after deportation (2021).

Reyes-Rodriguez pleaded guilty to one count of Deported Alien Found in the United States. After completing his prison sentence he will be deported again to Mexico.

First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada and Salt Lake City Acting Field Office Director Ruben Levya announced the sentencing. The case was investigated by ICE Salt Lake City’s Las Vegas Sub-Office and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Nevada.
