William B. McCrary, DMS, PA-C, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who, according to a May 13 announcement. Individuals included in Marquis Who’s Who are selected based on factors such as position, accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in their field.

This recognition highlights McCrary’s career in medical education and clinical practice. Since 2025, he has served as director of didactic education for the physician assistant program at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. In this role, he leads curriculum planning and supports academic operations while also teaching anatomy, clinical reasoning, simulation-based education and more.

McCrary began his academic career in 2022 after several years of clinical work with Fast Pace Health clinics across Tennessee from 2017 to 2026. He also worked as a clinic coordinator and practiced pediatric medicine at the Tennessee Pediatric and Adolescent Center between 2016 and 2018 following his graduation from physician assistant school.

His background includes experience as a clogging instructor at Cannon Arts Dance Studio from 2010 to 2014 and an internship with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s drug chemistry lab in Nashville during college. McCrary holds a Doctor of Medical Science degree focused on medical education from Lincoln Memorial University (2022), where his research addressed patient satisfaction and interpersonal skills among healthcare providers.

McCrary is involved with several professional organizations including the Academy of Physician Associates in Legal Medicine since 2026; Academy of Doctoral PAs since 2025; PA Education Association since 2022; Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants since 2016; and American Academy of Physician Associates since 2014. He has served on committees supporting student workshops for Fall Fest conferences through the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants since 2024.

In addition to his educational work, McCrary is active with community service groups such as Bravo Boro—where he serves as board member—and Called to Serve for medical mission work abroad. He was honored with Lincoln Memorial University’s inaugural Forty Under Forty Award in 2025 recognizing alumni under age forty who have made significant contributions or demonstrated innovation within their fields.

Looking ahead, McCrary aims for Middle Tennessee State University’s physician assistant program to graduate skilled clinicians serving rural communities throughout Tennessee.
