OLYMPIA – The Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery suspended the license of Kittitas County osteopathic physician and surgeon Anna Elperin (OP.60576478) pending further legal action.
In December 2021 the board restricted Elperin’s license based on charges that she issued COVID-19 vaccination exemptions without any medical justification. These charges are being contested in a hearing before the board.
Amendments to the December 2021 charges state that Elperin signed COVID-19 vaccine exemption waivers for patients without charting or specifying a medical condition to justify the exemption. The amended statement of charges also states that Elperin failed to complete the required evaluation and record keeping for an insulin dependent diabetic with high blood pressure and failed to comply with opioid prescribing regulations for high-risk chronic pain patients.
Elperin cannot practice in Washington until the charges are resolved. She has 20 days to request a hearing to contest the additional charges.
