Seattle University announced on Apr. 24 that guard Kaden Hansen has signed to join the men’s basketball team for the 2026–27 season.
Hansen’s addition comes after a strong performance at Saint Martin’s University, where he was recognized as one of NCAA Division II’s top players. The university said his skills and recent achievements will bring added strength to the Redhawks’ roster.
“We’re excited to add Kaden to our program,” said head coach Chris Victor. “He’s an explosive scorer and playmaker who is coming off an outstanding season where he proved he can take over games. His ability to score, combined with this competitiveness, will translate well to our program.”
During the 2025-26 season at Saint Martin’s, Hansen averaged 18.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game while shooting over 43 percent from the field and nearly 36 percent from three-point range. He made a total of 77 three-pointers during the year and scored more than twenty points in fifteen games.
Hansen earned several postseason honors including NABC Division II All-District First Team and D2CCA All-West Region First Team recognition. He was named GNAC Player of the Year—becoming only the second player in his program’s history to receive this honor—and also collected First Team All-GNAC accolades.
His efforts helped lead Saint Martin’s University to a record-tying season with a total of twenty-six wins, securing both regular season and tournament championships in their conference before advancing to the second round of NCAA West Regionals.
Before college, Hansen played at Auburn High School in Auburn, Washington, where he helped win a state championship during the 2021-22 season alongside teammate Maleek Arington.
