Five individuals have been indicted in the Eastern District of Washington for illegally reentering the United States after having previously been deported. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that all five are Mexican nationals with criminal records and prior removals from the country.

The indictments stem from investigations by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and other federal law enforcement agencies. These agencies focus on identifying foreign nationals present in the country unlawfully who also have a history of breaking state, local, or federal laws.

The following individuals were named in the indictments:

Pablo Carmona-Carmona, 47, was previously convicted of DUI in California and removed to Mexico twice before. He was arrested by Yakima Police Department on October 31, 2024, for charges including Child Molestation in the 1st and 2nd Degree. That case is still pending.

Rodolfo Cortes-Sorroza, 38, has a prior conviction for illegally reentering the U.S., as well as assault and burglary convictions in state court. He has been deported twice before. On July 26, 2025, he was arrested in Klickitat County on warrants for residential burglary and failure to appear.

Alfredo Ventura-Gutierrez (also known as Jose Ventura Dias), 48, was convicted in California of felony domestic violence, violating a restraining order, DUI, and illegal entry into the U.S. under 8 U.S.C. §1325. He has two previous removals to Mexico. Ventura-Gutierrez was arrested by Wapato Police Department on August 3, 2024, for rape in the second and third degree and two counts of violating an order of protection; those charges remain pending.

Carlos Antonio Moran-Arce, 52, has a conviction for illegal reentry after deportation along with state convictions for theft and battery. He has been removed twice before. Moran-Arce was arrested by Yakima Police Department on April 24, 2025, facing state charges of hit-and-run and harassment threaten to kill; these charges are still pending.

Raul Partida-Farias, 50, has previous convictions in Yakima County Superior Court for alien in possession of a firearm and assault in Benton County Superior Court. He was deported once before his current arrest on DUI and possession of a stolen vehicle charges in Benton County; these cases are ongoing.

“These indictments reflect the commitment of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington and our law enforcement partners to protecting the public from individuals who take advantage of their illegal status within the United States to commit criminal offenses against others,” said officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington.

“Prosecuting individuals for Illegally Re-Entering the United States After Deportation in violation of 8 U.S.C. §1326 both serves national security and increases trust,” they added. “These, and similar prosecutions, are a deterrent to criminal future conduct and disincentivize illegal entry (and re-entry) into the United States.”

ICE participated in these investigations. Assistant United States Attorney Letitia A. Sikes is prosecuting these cases.

Officials emphasized that an indictment is only an allegation; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
