A federal grand jury has indicted Jujuan George, 33, of Pensacola, on several charges including distribution of fentanyl and cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana, as well as firearm offenses. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
George appeared in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Hope Thai Cannon on August 28, 2025. His trial is set for October 6, 2025 before United States District Judge M. Casey Rodgers in Pensacola.
If found guilty on these charges, George could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
The case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Highway Patrol. Assistant United States Attorney Jessica S. Etherton is handling the prosecution.
“An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial,” according to the statement.
This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America (https://www.justice.gov/dag/media/1393746/dl?inline), an initiative by the Department of Justice focused on combating illegal immigration and eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations to enhance community safety. The program coordinates resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
