Dr Robert Griffith, also known as Pastor Bob Griffith, announced on May 6 that he is combining his experience in church leadership with foster care advocacy in his current work across Virginia. Griffith has served as both lead pastor and executive pastor for a large multi-site church and now focuses on consulting, teaching, speaking, and nonprofit board service.
Griffith teaches practical theology and leadership at Southeastern University. His courses are designed for adult learners pursuing advanced ministry degrees, connecting theological conviction with the organizational aspects of managing churches, nonprofits, and ministry teams.
His involvement in foster care includes founding 1Hope Together, a nonprofit organization that partnered churches with local child welfare agencies to create respite care networks and volunteer teams. He currently serves as a board member of Backyard Orphans. His advocacy has been recognized by Outreach Magazine and K-LOVE radio, as well as being cited from the floor of the United States Congress.
Griffith is also the author of “Fostering Jesus,” which provides guidance for churches looking to develop sustainable foster care ministries. The book addresses topics such as volunteer mobilization and agency partnerships. “Churches already have what foster families need: willing people, physical space, and a commitment to caring for the vulnerable. The missing piece is usually structure, and that’s what I help them build,” said Dr Robert Griffith.
He holds degrees in ministry, leadership, and business. His consulting work focuses on staff development, organizational accountability, mission alignment, and applying theology in leadership decisions. He remains available for speaking engagements or training sessions with churches or ministry organizations.
