Adam Sleeper has been sworn in as the United States Attorney for the District of the Virgin Islands. The ceremony took place in St. Thomas, where Chief District Court Judge Robert Molloy administered the oath in a private event.
Sleeper was nominated for the position by President Donald Trump on May 6, 2025, and received confirmation from the United States Senate on October 7, 2025.
Before assuming this role, Sleeper served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the same district, holding various positions including line prosecutor, Appellate Chief, First Assistant United States Attorney, and Acting United States Attorney. He previously clerked for Judge Curtis Gómez of the District Court of the Virgin Islands and Judge Joel Carson III of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Sleeper also worked as an associate at an international law firm in Boston, Massachusetts.
He earned his J.D. cum laude from Cornell Law School and his B.A. cum laude from Connecticut College.
